I thought I’d share some pictures of my humidors. Just click one of the pictures as it scrolls by to see the full sized pic.
(I can’t get the embedded slideshow to work for some reason so here is the url to view the pictures….)
The wine cooler pics are a little out of date. I have reconfigured the shelves, added some cedar trays and I have added a few boxes of cigars as well. It is a thermo-electric wine cooler. It keeps my cigars at 65 degrees and 65% RH very nicely. Because it is thermo-electric and doesn’t use a compressor, the RH stays stable even when the unit is cooling. It has been a dream come true. My cheap man’s climate controlled cabinet humidor.
Update: Here is an updated picture of the wine cooler that shows the cedar trays I added.

matt…I’m curious what kind of winecooler did you use? I’m looking at doing something similar and yours is the exact size that I would want. you can email me at maver1x@comcast.net…thx
Matt did you use spanish cedar? I’m here in Raleigh too and was wondering where did you get the cedar?
The shelves in the wine cooler came with the wine cooler. They are Teak wood shelves. I thought about replacing them with Spanish cedar, but I decided to just get some Spanish cedar trays instead. I just sit the trays on the Teak shelves and it works perfectly. Below is the link to where the trays were bought, and also a link of a place that sells Spanish cedar.

Matt,
Great site, very informative. I too am a DPG cigar lover. What brand wine cooler are you using? Would you advise how you keep it at 65 degrees and 65% RH? Does the wine cooler allow this setting or did you make some modifications? Thanks in advance.
It is an EdgeStar Wine cooler. It has an adjustable thermostat that has a max setting of 65 degrees. I was using humi-beads to keep it at 65% RH but now I am using a Cigar Oasis Plus.
Matt,
Nice. I’m actually waiting for my EdgeStar to come in the mail. I’m wondering… how did you run the wire for the Cigar Oasis Plus? Or did you use batteries? Also, do you think the ‘Plus’ is enough, or would you recommend the ‘Plus XL’?
Mine is an XL Plus and I just run the ribbon cable out the hinge side of the door to power it.
